upcoming projects

There are a number of ministries and projects that Kainos is involved in. The projects listed here are projects that are in the works and will be publicly available in the near future.

If you have any ministry or project ideas or would like to receive support to make your ministry a reality, please contact us and we will be in touch

Lay ministry

On thing that is abundantly clear is that no church can be successful without lay leaders. Because of the shortage of pastors in ministry, often times the burden of leading a church falls on our lay leaders who have not received formal training.

Kainos has partnered with West Coast Korean Camp Meeting to provide leadership training and resources at the English Adult department.

In partnership with the WCKCM Committee and the hosting churches, Kainos will help prepare and equip our lay leaders to return to their home churches and help lead and turn their church vision into reality.

KAYAMM

An important and significant ministry in Korean-American churches is KAYAMM (Korean American Youth Adventist Missionary Movement).

KAYAMM is at its core a leadership training program. There are three levels at KAYAMM: Junior KAYAMM, High School KAYAMM, and International KAYAMM.

Junior KAYAMM is for middle-school ages and it lays the foundation of leadership training and missionary spirit. We help equip our young people to adopt the mentality of a missionary in their local context and equip them with leadership skills that they can use at their home church.

High School KAYAMM is the first mission based program we offer. Students will go to Mexico for a week-long mission trip that involves VBS, local outreach, and assisting the local community.

International KAYAMM is for college students and graduates. It is a summer long training and mission trip. There is a 2 week training session in Southern California where they will learn how to become a missionary and plan for their mission trip. They will then fly to their mission field (location differs per year) and serve at the mission field for the next 5-6 weeks. The program concludes at West Coast Korean Camp Meeting.

For 2025, Junior and High School KAYAMM will take place at the same time at La Sierra University in Southern California. There will be no mission trip for High School this year; it will be a leadership and missionary training program.

intergenerational bridge building.

One of the main points of conflict in our Korean American churches is the relationship between the first generation Korean Ministry and the 2nd generation English Ministries. The key to efficient and effective ministry is learning how to bridge the two ministries and work in collaboration and synergy with each other.

Unfortunately many of our churches lack that collaboration for a variety of reasons. Kainos hopes to help bridge the divide.

One of the main ways we aim to bridge the gap is by using the services of Dr. Ruth Chung. Dr. Chung has decades of experience dealing with intergenerational issues and conflict management. Her lectures and seminars help both ministries understand the other and help create bridges to unite churches so they can continue to Kingdom build as a united church.

Kainos is working with Dr. Chung to send her to interested churches to receive her seminars and workshops.
